i jumped once and laughed a lot---great flick

my minor beef though, is this---they get to the gun shop and pick up some bullshit guns---the best one they grabbed was a tactical 12 gauge shotgun---i would've been armed to the fuckin' teeth

other than that, i went home happy

I'm in somewhat-agreement with virtual. Woulda snagged a semi-auto longrifle with police-issue magazines & popped a laser-sight on it to make for easier hipshots.

Be thankful the scriptwriter didn't think to put a Renaissance Festival next door to the mall, so they'd grab chain-mail armour & walk thru mobs of gnawing zombies without fear of nibbles...

Actually, that makes far more sense. Rifles? Beyond using them for picking off zombies across the street, they had little value. Shotguns, yes, and certainly handguns for in close fighting. Most people aren't going to hit these guys in the head under pressure until they are on top of them.

Head to toe leather was at least a requirement, including a trip to the S&M shop for a mask. Some chain mail, especially for the arms and hands, would have been mighty handy. And everyone could have used a small chainsaw or sword for those final up close battles. Hey, even a dozen zombies on you would be manageable with a chainsaw and full leather!

Of course, had they had enough propane tanks around, they could have used those to clear the parking lot a tad before they made their run. Ah, but there's lots of things they COULD have done, but that's not the point of the film...

Last time shooting my Colt .45 pistol, needed to steady myself & firmly grip the handles with both hands before squeezing a round off. And the aim was very poor. There's too much kick, a LOT more than full-load blanks in movies.

But, I also own an SKS with the shoulder-stock sawed-off. Granted, not as easy to maneuver close-quarters as a pistol, but hipshots off a truncated assault-rifle would work very well in racking-up a headshot-count!
